Is there a Tamagotchi-style pet for Garmin watches?
Yes. Pip is a Tamagotchi-style virtual pet made for Garmin watches. Instead of feeding buttons, your daily steps look after Pip. Pip is not affiliated with Bandai or Tamagotchi.
Can you play games on a Garmin watch?
Yes. Garmin watches run games through the Connect IQ Store. Pip is a game that lives on your watch face, so it plays itself as you walk: you never have to open an app.
How do I add Pip to my Garmin watch?
Open the Connect IQ app on your phone, search for "Pip", tap Install, then choose Pip as your watch face. You can also hold the watch face on your watch, pick Pip from the list and confirm.
Which Garmin watches does Pip work on?

Is Pip free?
Yes. Pip is free to download and play, with 4 animal friends, 2 outfits and 2 pairs of shoes to win. A paid version with more friends may come later; the free version keeps working.
Do I need a phone app?
No. Pip runs entirely on your watch. There is no companion app and no account. It syncs in the background through Garmin Connect so your progress is kept.
How many steps does Pip need?
1,000 steps a day keeps Pip happy. Reaching 3,000 and 10,000 steps in a day each opens a surprise. Your first day has easier goals of 1,000 and 3,000 steps.
What happens if I stop walking?
After one day without 1,000 steps Pip gets tired, after two Pip gets sad, and one walk cheers Pip up again. After three days Pip leaves and a new Pip moves in. Your friends and clothes are kept.
How do I open a surprise?
When the bar at the bottom is full, Pip tells you. Touch and hold anywhere on the watch face to open it.
Does Pip drain the battery?
Pip only moves for a few seconds after you raise your wrist, then stays still. In always-on mode it shows just a dim clock. It checks in with Garmin Connect about every 30 minutes.
What data does Pip read?
Your step count, the time, battery, weather and your bedtime (so Pip sleeps when you do). Never your location or heart rate. See the privacy policy.

Yes. Pip is a full watch face: big time, date, temperature, battery and today's steps.
